Arta Rexhepi is a Canadian- Albanian writer/journalist living in Nova Scotia. She arrived in Canada as a refugee from Kosovo as a teenager. Since experiencing war, her passion about journalism was born along with the inspiration of her artistic family.

At the age of 15-years-old, Arta participated in a poetry competition in Hollywood, CA earning ‘Editor’s Choice Award’. As a youth, she’s taken part in many human rights opportunities such as ‘Standing up against racism conference’ among many others. She is particularly passionate about stories involving human rights and diversity groups. Her documentary ‘North Preston: A look past stigma’ became a local viral story highlighting the challenges and some inspirational people of Nova Scotia’s largest black community which was showcased at the Emerging Lens Film Festival. Upon graduating from Broadcast Journalism in Canada, she’s worked as a new journalist at CBC, CTV Atlantic and as a National Writer for CTV News Channel. She’s also worked as a correspondent for Albanian news outlets. She's passionate about stories involving refugees and produced 'Operation Parasol: A Refugee Story' which was showcased at Pier21 Museum of Immigration at Operation Parasol exhibit and event held last year in commemorating 25 years of Canada's response in resettling over 8000 refugees. Arta was also the producer and project manager for the event. Her other work includes stories of Syrian refugees among many others. She's publicly shared the stories of Kosovo refugees as a journalist through storytelling and was also a guest speaker in Nancy Regan's podcast and the podcast of Zoryan International Institute of Genocide and Human Rights and CBC Radio-Canada programs, EuroNews speaking on Kosovo issues ​and more.

Through her foundation, Arta aims at sharing stories of newcomers, refugees and women who've faced significant challenges including human rights violations.
